Who is responsible for pest control? The landlord or tennant?

We have discovered a hugh wasp nest in our garden. We only moved in a couple of months ago (we're renting through an estate agents) so we don't know if it's recently appeared or if it's been here since we moved in. Who is responsible for paying for the expermination?

I would say the landlord has the responsibility. It is a safety hazard. Just like a loose railing or icy sidewalks.
i thing the local council have a pest control dept they could help u out also if u are elderly or sick or on benefits it might be nonchargeable or very cheap
contact your local council to have the nest removed now it is unsafe to leave I am allergic to wasp stings I went blind for two days after being stung now I have to call an emergency

Ambulance if stung

My local council have a set fee you could get a receipt and ask the estate agent to reimburse you
call the local authorities and they will either take care of it or instruct your landlord to do it in 7 days
in the garden it's your problem, in doors the problem belongs to the landlord.

Stop being cheap, purchase a spray can of insect killer and kill them.
Landlord is responsible for safety of tenants. If he/she refuses, the time frame to force upon landlord MAY (not always) be a disadvantage to you %26amp; take matters in your own hands.

If that is the case, wait well after dark when wasps in bed %26amp; spray the crap out of the nest. If nothing seen moving the next day, scrape off nest %26amp; double bag for garbage.

See what owner/landlord says first.
I am a property manager and our promulgated forms prepared by the state of Texas attorneys for use with realtors states that the owner is responsible for wood destroying insects only such as termites and carpenter ants. It is the tenants responsibility for general pest control. The only time the owner does general pest control is if the house was vacant and when the tenant moves in there are ants, roaches etc...... then the owner does the exterminating
