Do the Riddex Plus pest control things work?

You know..the things you plug in the outlet and are supposed to get rid of mice and roaches?

Note: I don't want to know what you think. I want people who have tried it to tell me about it. Do the Riddex Plus pest control things work?
I used them, they did nothing! Don't waste your $$$Do the Riddex Plus pest control things work?
Save your money because they're worthless. The way to get rid of the little critters is to clean up all spills, crumbs, etc., and make sure everything is clean. Put everything you can in zip top bags and into the refrigerator. Make sure everything else is in metal or glass containers. Don't leave pet food and water available because the pets are not the only thing eating it. Do not leave any liquids out and available. Put rat bait in the back of cabinets such as under the sink, under appliances, etc. Mice and rats like to stay close to walls and underneath things. Closely examine all walls, baseboards, and floors to be sure there are no openings. Mice can get in through an opening the size of a dime. Stuff steel wool in all openings. Roaches and other crawling insects require a different bait than mice. The baits work by being attracive to the mice. When the mice eat the bait they get thirsty and try to find something to drink. They have to go somewhere else to drink and when they do, the bait kills them. Roach bait works because they get it all over their community and it kills many of them. It goes without saying to keep all this stuff away from pets and kids.
We bought a pair last year and didn't have a major mouse problem, maybe one or two. However, this year with the Riddex still plugged in, I trapped 8 mice in our food closet in one day. Last night caught another one. So, does it work? Didn't seem to make any difference.
There have been pretty mixed reviews. It's only supposed to affect rodents (pets are affected too, like gerbils and guinea pigs) and cockroaches. It also claims to be fully compliant with the Federal Communications Commission.
