I have a ant problem. I was going to try to use that pest control?

Instead of calling a exterminator I want to try and use other options.I tried ant baits but that work for 3 weeks now there are more ants.I want to use an insecticide that will not harm my dogs. But i want to get rid of the problem ASAP.What can I use.Help me plsI have a ant problem. I was going to try to use that pest control?
To kill roaches/ants - Lay out bread crumbs/honey and mix with boric acid or borax (be careful b/c this stuff is poisonous) and aspartame; leave it on the trail _ THIS IS A TRAP!

- Also, mix honey with cornmeal and leave it on the ant trail. The ants take it back to their colony, eat it, and the cornmeal expands inside of the ants and kills them. (You can possibly try it with the roaches)

Ants: Leave dried cucumber slices in cabinets and on counters; Soapy water in spray bottle will kill them on the spot; Leave mint tea, baby powder, cayenne pepper, citrus oil, lemon juice, cinnamon and coffee grounds in cracks and areas will the ants are. (these are deterrents)

- It also helps to wash down tables and cabinets with a mix of vinegar and water, or water and bleach.

(New Edition) Terro Ant Killer- this thing does miracles; gets rid of the colony in a few days, and is a very good bargain. Find it at Wal-Mart, hardware stores, and Walgreens

Warning: The Terro Ant Killer is the best but it contains borax which can be harmful to pets and children.I have a ant problem. I was going to try to use that pest control?
Check out this website for insect repellants that you can make. The ones with Borax can be harmful to your pets so you may want to go with some of the plant suggestions.

Good luck!

Buy a garden sprayer and a concentrated bottle of malathion (may have not spelled that right). Mix it yourself and apply it generously to the outside perimiter of the home...up the walls 5 feet and out into the yard about 15 feet. This will keep them at bay for a while. You need to keep the dog away from the mixture until it dries.

Pay particular attention to window frames, basement windows, doors, and joints between the foundation and the house . Look around outside for any anthills and deliver a lethal dose of the pesticide to the mound.

  • Pest Control For The Yard That is Safe For Pets?

I have a Dilemma , I need to find a Pest Control For my Back yard that wont harm my 2 Dogs is their such a product .

Best Answer 10 Points !!Pest Control For The Yard That is Safe For Pets?
Organicide. it's made from Sesame oil, fish oil, and lecithin.

you could even lick it and not get sick. it's safe for people, pets, everything but bugs. you have to treat sort of often though, as it washes away after a heavy rain.

it's ok against fleas, but doesn't get rid of ';flea beetles'; which like to eat up eggplant. i found this out the hard way last week

: (Pest Control For The Yard That is Safe For Pets?
It depends on what pests you have. There are tons of household products that do wonders to relieve your yard of pests - fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, etc.

Perform a google search for specific instructions. I have used the dish detergent remedy for my front yard. It suffocates everything lives in your dirt but doesn't harm the grass or your pets.

If it's more serious I'd take the advice of the other 2 before my post and call a professional exterminator. Their chemicals are still harmful to pets (as they all are) but the affects on the pests are faster than over the counter products and they are only harmful when wet or first applied. So it's less threatening to your furry friends.

    Good Luck
My advice - use a professional exterminator, make sure they know that you have pets and remove your pets from the home for the day. Follow any instructions the exterminator gives you for keeping your animals safe.
Depends what kind of pests. For large ones dig down around your fence about a foot. then double up chicken wire and bury it aswell cant go wrong.
Yes, a professional exterminator can come and exterminate your yard with a safe product.

Should everyone who appears on Jeremy Kyle be shot as an act of pest control?

A great suggestion...but....it would'nt work..there's just way too many of them..I was on the Isle Of Sheppey last week and... Jeeezzz.... the place was full of them...millions of chavs and their horrible kids... I had to hide in the Police Station in case I was attacked for being normal...lol
Absolutely. They should use the lie detector and ask them if they believe they have anything to give to society. All failures should be shot. While they are at it they could use a flame thrower on the hillbilly audience too! Good question.
    That is an interesting idea.
HAHA they so should be, they're such scumbags.
may i suggest a mass program of sterilisation?
    I AGREE!

My home is infested with crickets, any reason I should spare their lives before I call pest control?

Crickets are dirty and annoying. If you don't have a kitty who enjoys killing them (as I do), then you should get them killed off. I think one cricket might be good luck, but if a bunch of them are good luck, then I'd just stick with bad luck.My home is infested with crickets, any reason I should spare their lives before I call pest control?
Don't waste money on pest control. Go buy Bug Stop Clear and spray it around the house. Inside and out. It kills for 9 months and works really good.

Its like $7 or $8 and will do the same.My home is infested with crickets, any reason I should spare their lives before I call pest control?
    Crickets are good luck.

I think the pest control people have a solution that will get them to go away rather than killing them.
You can catch them and sell them to the pet store. Most pet stores sell crickets for snake food. I personally don't think it's worth it.
    All life is precious...

They don't pose any threat what-so-ever to human life...

Ancient Chinese People believed they were lucky and used to keep them as pets.

    They eat smaller insectes

They can tell you the temperature with speed of their chirps.

Maybe you're not like every other human being that would rather kill something than live with a minor inconvenience.
You can feel like you are camping every night and fall asleep to the sweet sound of crickets!
Just think about their cricket children:(
well, they do make good fish bait.
OMG, kill a cricket!!!! How could you! You need to let them multiply and overwhelm your house. That is Mother Gaya's will. And the predators that will come in to lunch on cricket, will be an addition that is so exciting. What an Eco adventure is in store for you. Mice in the Hamburger Helper, Fire ants eating the remains. I mean, how could you ever think of calling an exterminator!
Buy a Lotto ticket first, Cricket are very good Luck.

The Crickets will bring you new life in Success

You are in a good spot
No, they are obviously guilty of home invasion.
    No, none at all.
They seem to eat smaller insects. And their chirping is relaxing. But if your infested you should get some spray or have a pest control do it for you.
killing is a cream... ahemmm... crime i mean!

    http://www.bullfrogspas.com
What are the crickets eating? Get rid of the crickets and you will have to deal with larger numbers of what they were having for dinner.
You could throw some moth balls under your furniture they don't like the smell and will move out.

Snack bar worker exposed to pest-control chemical by worker in a hazmat suit. Became deathly ill shortly after exposure and within 2-3 weeks was diagnosed with AML.Can brief but direct exposure to toxic pest-control chemicals cause Acute Myelogenous Leukemia?
the term toxic should be enough no one knows what CAN cause what and there is the individual variation something can affect 1 in a million (SORRY AT WORK) and leave the other 999,999 untouched but if this goes to court you have 0% Chance without a documented history of cause and effectCan brief but direct exposure to toxic pest-control chemicals cause Acute Myelogenous Leukemia?
I have not seen this reported. I would be skeptical. So many things have been blamed for causing cancer and leukemia and only a small percentage proved correct.
There have been proven links between certain radiations and leukemia type cancers. There has also been a proven link between the chemical Benzene and cancer. There may be other links between cancer and chemicals that I am not aware of. The best way to determine this is with the MSDS information from the chemical. A MSDS sheet is the Material Safety Data Sheet and it contains a list of all the ingredients and ALL the hazards and treatment due to exposure of that chemical. I would contact the pest control company for a copy of the MSDS sheet or contact OSHA for help.

Fleas purposelly planted by pest control?

1 week after fleas appeared at home, the pest control people showed up soliciting sales. Did they plant fleas to get sales?

Could it be that the pest control people purposely plant fleas and then come soliciting sales? Or is it just that each May is the flea season in Dallas/Ft Worth, Texas?Fleas purposelly planted by pest control?
Pest control companies order fleas off the internet and sprinkle them in every house they visit. They will sometimes add a few ticks to the couch. Every home office has a huge ant farm out back so the techs can infest the property.

Lawn maintenance companies carry weed seed to sprinkle about so you will need their service too.

Your fleas come from birds, rats, mice, cats, dogs, squirrels and any wild thing that crosses your lawn. If you have a pet, they brought the pest inside.

Now go drink a beer and start scratching.Fleas purposelly planted by pest control?
It's more temperature related than monthly related, but yes when it starts to get hot is when they get active. Check out a website www.fleasmart.com/life.htm for a more in depth explanation.

  • Difference between Biological pest control and chemical pesticides?

I need a difference between the twoDifference between Biological pest control and chemical pesticides?
If you use lady bugs to eat the harmful insects, that is biological. If you import birds that eat the specific pest, that is biological

If you use a chemical whether it is made in the lab or natural, that is a chemical pesticideDifference between Biological pest control and chemical pesticides?
    science teacher has it covered.

living organisms for bio ...nematodes ( smallest ) tiny critters , less than a milimeter munch on larger pests such as spidermite etc.

chemicals made in a lab , mixed into appropriate pesticide for species of pest to be erradicated.

most important difference is health and safety.

biological control of pests is slow , random and prone to failure from weather etc. but is the safest for man and environment.

chemical is cheap , instant in most cases and is applied around weather patterns so it avoids being washed off by rain or baked on and rendered useless by hot sun.

chemical also leaves a trace residue on/in any crop applied to. not so good for man and enviroment but much much more widely used than biological which equates to nearly 50 times more expensive in some cases.

    hope that helps

I think I have mice. Anyone know average cost to get rid of them from a pest control service?

I will tell you this. Whatever it costs it is worth it. Most of the time you have to treat all your interior walls, and you might have to get rid of some couches chairs etc where nesting could be taking place. Also, in many cases there is a big crack or other entry point new mice get in and out. The exterminator can find this point and recommend sealing it. It is not uncommon for a home infested with mice to have ten thousand mice in the walls. Do it now.I think I have mice. Anyone know average cost to get rid of them from a pest control service?
Try placing cotton balls soaked in peppermint oil in small container (lid) around. Mice don't like the smell.I think I have mice. Anyone know average cost to get rid of them from a pest control service?
Glue traps are the best method to trap rats and mice . I found detailed information at http://pests.in
Usually there is a initial consultation fee and then they charge you per mice caught. Sometimes it's around $40 per mouse caught. Usually the contract is for a year (or other period that you select) and whatever they catch you pay for.
If you don't like the price quoted by the exterminator, or if you can't wait you can start getting rid of them now. You can't be squeamish, you need to find the hole where they are gaining entry first and seal it up. Place steel wool in openings inside your house, put out decon for them to eat, make sure all food is sealed in hard plastic or metal containers so they will eat the decon. and get a lot of glue and snap traps. place the glue traps along the walls and the snap traps near openings. Smear peanut butter in the center of the glue traps with a piece of popcorn, and twist peanutbbutter in a tiny piece of foil and jam it into the bait holder section of the snap traps. this is important because the mice can lick the peanut butter off without setting off the trap so jam it in there good. It doesn't have to pe big because they love that smell. When you hear the traps snap, just throw them out and replace it with a new one. It's gorey sometimes, but soon you will start catching babies. keep replacing the traps as soon as you see the mouse caught. Sometimes they are still alive so don't be squeamish. It takes about a month. After you see no more sighs of mice, keep fresh traps down th make sure you got them all.

Is it docile? I think it can be easily tamed if you have enough patience to work with it! Give it a name to start , Nessie sounds good. Return to the pond every day at the same time with some monster treats ( alligators are a favorite ) and coax it along. Within a matter of a few days it will get used to your daily feedings and be there waiting for you wagging its tail. Then start bringing toys with you, like brightly colored balls or perhaps a frisbee to toss and throw out onto the pond. Nessie will love the interaction and playfully look forward to your visits each day. Once you get her trust, you can reach out and pat her on the head. After all that work, why would you want to remove her from your pond. She trusted you, how could you betray her like that!

Edit: Well but of course, you can get a trainer. But you'd have to pay my travel expenses from one coast to the other.

Do those electric pest control devices work?

i was wondereing if those devices that you plug into the wall really get rid of insects in the home we have a problem with roachs and flying ants at certain times a year and my wife is scared of the poisinsDo those electric pest control devices work?
Do not waste your money on those electric devices. They are cleverly made to do nothing but make money for the manufacturer. Boric acid powder will get rid of roaches, but you should really have an exterminator look at what's going on. Those ';flying ants'; may be termites.Do those electric pest control devices work?
Had an aunt that was not a house keeper and put one pest control in her house and it worked for her.For roaches just mix boric acid with some Eagle brand milk and put a bit on paper plate(cut in small pieces)and put under the furniture will not hurt pets. For the mice gets traps and set them, buy d-con or the traps that entice mice and they stick to the glue.I have used them all.
there is some stuff at walmart you can get for the roaches, it is in a container that looks like a caulking gun black and gold color cost approx.7 bucks per container. at our walmart it is located on the isle with the insect repellents but you may have to ask an associate for help. anyways i moved into a house that was completely infested with bugs literally falling off the door jam as i walked in (YUK!!!) and i bought two tubes of this stuff as it was recommended by a friend and i have lived here for 5 years and i know my neighbors have bugs but still yet i have not seen any since. this is the best product out there. as for it being safe, you put it in places like cracks and above cabinets etc. well worth the money. also bar bait is for mice and it is truely the best and this too is put in places that a child or pet would not be able to get to. I also had to use this product because the house was infested with rodents, honestly i cant imagine why anyone would or even could live in such a mess when it cost like four bucks to get rid of the problem. however you will not find bar bait located at your local walmart, i have to go to the pharmacy to get it.

I have no idea if ultrasonic pest control works, but if you are that desperate, try using some creative methods such as Integrated Pest Management (IPM). IPM uses least toxic, most effective means, and use things such as plugging a hole with caulking (I use tape though) to stop ants from entering. It's surprisingly effective. depending upon which vent your talking about, there's one that's connected to your plumbing lines to vent methane gas from the waste and another that's connected to the fan in your bathroom (that is, if you have one of those), and that particular vent will have a fan blocking the view and is typically routed around other things so the pipe is curved and twisted around things. if you can't see daylight through it, he can't see you
you dont hear of to many peeping toms looking down a roof vent.your question is whack

i cant believe i just said whack

    what omni said
just dont turn the lights on... he wont be able to see you but he may be able to smell you!
If the vent pipe runs straight up through the roof, yes.
    no.
No, it's connected to the pipes in the house to help them drain.
No, there are usually bends in the line

Do local PETA offices use a pest control service? What would they do if they were overrun with cockroaches?

Mice? Rats?Do local PETA offices use a pest control service? What would they do if they were overrun with cockroaches?
    For the roaches - bring out their official well-trained stomp squad....or rent the roach rodeo cowboys to round them up and haul them off to a rehabilitation farm for useless critters where ';they'll be taught a new trade for the good of PETA's future'; ( out of an under under ground PETA newsletter I heard). For the mice and rats - nothing works better 'n a cat....nuthin' There have to be PETA members who'd agree with that method...right? Otherwise it would be humane traps and turn them loose in the wild....shudder. I like the cat better.Do local PETA offices use a pest control service?     I think that is a good question for PETA. Do they just care about the ';cute animals?';

Catch them and make them their pets LOL!!! :)
very interesting question....one I never thought of.
They'd probably either find alternative ways of dealing with the problem, like getting animals that prey on rats or cockroaches, methods like sonic waves that harmlessly drive pests away.
I don't believe roaches are considered as ';animals';. Bugs, yes, animals, no. Also, they are useless in this world. We can live without them.

Mice %26amp; Rats would probably be ';humanely'; caught and put in captivity until a snake got hungry.
I think cockroaches have enough sense to stay away from those fanatics.
ROACHES ARE NOT ANIMAL. MICE THAY USELIVE TRAPS IT CATCHES THE ANIMAL ALIVE UNHARMED..

It depends in what state. California/Yes
Not since 9/11. The stuff you would be working with is usable as chemical weapons. Shouldn't have been carrying more than you could eat. Don 't worry there are many jobs available in the temporary field.

Do you need a pesticide applicators license to spray over the counter pest control products for profit?

No you don't. You only need an applicators license from your state if you want to buy and use registered chemicals. Greenskeepers for golf courses and greenhouse growers and termite people almost always have licences because they need stronger chemicals to control the things they face day in and day out.Do you need a pesticide applicators license to spray over the counter pest control products for profit?
Most certainly, if you are spraying for profit then you are a commercial sprayer and need training. Research has shown time and time again that most people that spray pesticides, in and around their own home, use at least 25% more than needed. Also, you should know what you are spraying for/on people, the ramifications of it, etc. Honestly, if you do not want to get a license and learn the appropriate methods of use, etc, then leave it to the people that do. Over-the-counter doesn't always mean safer, there are many over-the-counter pesticides that need to be diluted properly.Do you need a pesticide applicators license to spray over the counter pest control products for profit?
Yes you do, if you get caught you will be fined, you are spraying for a profit, you are spraying comercially. I know someone who did what you are planning and got slapped with a big fine. I suggest you contact your county extension office. Better safe than sorry!!!!!!!!!!
No you don't and forget the people who are so against pesticides....they don't really garden or they would realize that we have to.....to get success in growing...
No, you need a good swift kick in the _____. You don't want to spray pesticides. More cancer please so that idiots who don't realize the importance of insects can live in a sterile environment where all the trees and flowers are plastic. Spraying pesticides is just about as ethical as selling crack to children. Insects are teh reason things grow. Without them we would starve and choke to death on a dirty cloud of smog, exhaust and pesticide fumes. Pesticides have been directly linked to cancer, birth defects, miscarriages, retardation, etc. Also, pesticides cause birds to die (they eat bugs) and cause bird eggs to hatch before tehy are reday. Over the counter products are not neccessarily safe. Roundup is a commercially available herbicide. You can buy it at a hardware store with no license. Roundup is just diluted Agent Orange. Agent Orange was used in the Vietnam war and caused genetic defects for several generations. Why do you think DDT is illegal in Canada and the US now? Its not safe (although Amerikkka owns farms in Guatemala were they still use DDT and crops from those farms are sold in the US). Trying to profit off spraying pesticides is so ignorant. Like I said, you might as well be selling crack to children.

Where can I take class in Houston,TX to be a certified for work with Pest Control.?

The training, testing and licensing of pesticide applicators comprise a process called certification that is mandated by federal and state law. In Texas, the administration of license exams and licenses is conducted by three agencies:

Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), lead agency

Texas Structural Pest Control Board (SPCB)

Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS)

As a leader in education about agriculture, natural resources and pest management, the Texas Cooperative Extension has become a major source for the certification training and continuing education needed by pesticide applicators in our state. In addition, several commercial trainers are in business to serve pesticide applicators.

  • Organic pest control for thread like insects.?

I have 3 house plants and have noticed miniscule (about 1mm long) white thread like insects in the trays under them. They seem to jump around a bit... they may be a kind of larvae.

Anyway, I'd like my plants to be organic but I don't want these pests to damage my plants.

Can anyone tell me what to do? ThanksOrganic pest control for thread like insects.?
If they are in the try under the plants then they are feeding on the detritus and will not affect your plants, if you are worried about the plants, try keeping them a little dryer and stand the pots on gravel, only water when the pots dry out from the bottomOrganic pest control for thread like insects.?
These are probably the larvae of root scale insects. Left alone, they will kill the plants.

Try taking the plants out of their pots and removing as much soil as possible (don't break up the root ball). Throw the soil away. Now submerge the roots in water and leave them there for half an hour. That should drown everything, but have a good look at the plants and pick off anything sheltering above the water line. Then repot in new compost.
I think Old know all is right about scale insects - look at the underside of the leaves - do you see small waxy creamy grey lumps there? These are the scale insects themselves and you need to get rid of them as they will be leaching energy out of the plant as fast as you are putting it back by repotting it!

The easiest thing to do is scratch them off with your thumbnail or a blunt knife. I have heard of one lady unable to bring herself to do that %26amp; she held a cotton bud with methylated spirit on it against each insect - that apparently worked well too!
Make up a mix of Armillatox which you can buy from your local garden centre and water into the plant, soak the compost thoroughly. Spray the plant if necessary.

Follow the instructions to the letter, Armillatox is a natural soap based cleanser and will kill any insect and is perfectly safe to use on your plants.

Armillatox has many other uses around the home and garden.

Pest control sprayed our perimeter, but not the actual spiders?

We just had pest control out, and he went around the house and sprayed he perimeter of it, including windows and door frames. But he didn't spray the area where the spiders are nesting. Is this normal? Will these spiders eventually die off, or will the pesticide reach them? This is the first time we've had pest control out, so I'm not sure what protocol is.

Thanks - and PLEASE ONLY RESPOND IF YOU KNOW THE ANSWER. I don't need opinions. Thanks again!Pest control sprayed our perimeter, but not the actual spiders?
they are not spraying to kill insects outright. as the insect travels through the sprayed area the pesticide clings to them, they take it with them and it will kill them.Pest control sprayed our perimeter, but not the actual spiders?
My friend has been doing pest control for many years, and they told me when they sprayed for spiders it wont get rid of the spiders because spiders react differently to the pesticide than insects do. It will only get rid of the insects and make less food for the spdrs. Spiders like large open spaces

I live in this old house and we have bed bug problem. last year we had the pest control guy come in and?

spray the house on several occasion. things were fine for bout 6 months. but the bugs are coming back again. what should we do?I live in this old house and we have bed bug problem. last year we had the pest control guy come in and?
it could be that you are bringing them in from elsewhere also bed bugs can get into the creases of clothing and lay dormant until they are worn this could be how they are getting back also if you stay somewhere and they have them you can bring them to your home this happened to a friend of mine who had to have her house sprayed and also because her children stayed at their nans she had to get sprayed too as the kids took them there via clothingI live in this old house and we have bed bug problem. last year we had the pest control guy come in and?
Try this: Get your bedroom sprayed again. Get some tins and half fill them with vinegar! Place the legs of the bed in the vinegar tins. This should stop anything from craeling up the legs of the bed. If, of course, that is the case!
    try throwing out the bed
Make sure its bed-bugs you are dealing with:

A mature bed bug is an oval-bodied insect, brown to red-brown in color, wingless and flattened top to bottom. Unfed bugs are 1/4 to 3/8 inch long and the upper surface of the body has a crinkled appearance. A bug that has recently fed is engorged with blood, dull red in color, and the body is elongated and swollen. Eggs are white and are about 1/32 inch long. Newly hatched bugs are nearly colorless.

First make sure pest management professionals know about bed-bugs, its not something the industrial world has had to deal with so.

Pest management professionals should be well-trained in bed bug biology, behavior and control before implementing control plans. Clients, especially those in the hospitality industry and managers of multiple unit dwellings should understand, and take precautions against, the ways in which bed bugs are introduced into new environments. These include the use of leased furniture and the purchase of pre-owned items at garage sales, thrift stores, etc.

Also make sure its not from travels that you are reinfesting your house?

Wash and dry (in a dryer) all bed linens, vacuum mattresses and boxsprings.

Most times nonchemical methods don't work, so use of a chemical maybe needed.

Before application, carefully inspect and verify that the insecticide product is labeled for use on bed bugs in indoor situations. The most effective products include dusts, microencapsulated formulations, and wettable powders. Avoid direct treatment of mattresses and bedding.
    move house!!
    1) When I dusted my cat for fleas, I'd sprinkle some of the Flea Powder on the mattress. Maybe that will help with your problem.

    2) Go to HomeDepot or similar store and buy the gallon size of Ortho Max bug killer ($12-15). It has a small hose and sprayer. Around the house, you carry the bottle in one hand and spray with the other - just like an exterminator. The bottle will last at least a year and come in real handy under the sink.
Bedbugs are about as ancient as cockroaches, and can survive a month between human blood feedings. They don't live on pets, just people.

The only way to eradicate them is to get rid of the places that harbor them and their eggs, like bedding, carpeting, mattresses, etc. Since some of those things are too expensive to replace, an exterminator can do 3 visits to kill them in things like carpet. Everything else should be either discarded or washed repeatedly in VERY hot soapy water and bleach. If your mattresses are older, bite the bullet and get new ones.

Bedbugs do not carry disease. They are, however, very uncomfortable housepets.
Is it because your allergies are acting up? It sounds more like dust mite problems. The only way to really kill dust mites out of linens is to wash them in hot water with bleach.

Then vacuum, vacuum %26amp; vacuum like crazy.

Also, don't let dust settle on shelves, tv's etc...

We also use air cleaners, %26amp; so far all of this work has made such a huge difference at our house!
Change your mattress and make sure you hoover it daily and turn it over weekly..
keep the air condtioner on the lowest setting so that they will die from the extreem cold
    lol thats sick
Move in with the What Should I Do Retard
They may be in the inner lining of the mattresses, or walls, etc.

Six months is pretty good lenght of time for the bug spray to work.

Try to get rid if roaches or spiders. The bug man had to come back about every two to three days. I think he was spraying spider food.
    Hoover the matress daily.

If that fails, go to the pet shop and but a pet bedbugeater.
    Use the following:

    65 drops Tea Tree

    50 drops Lemon

    20 Drops Eucalyptus

    120mls spring water

Combine in a spritzer and spray on the beds, be sure not to spray in you eyes.

Let me know how you got on.
Get the house tented and treated, it means you may have to move out for a few days but it appears to be your only option.

By the way how do you know they are bed bugs?

Bed bugs are so small they cannot be seen by the Human eye, so how do you know you have them?

    Could you mean Cockroaches?
    Hi,

Bed bugs is indeed a specialist pest and one that you do in all honesty need both an understanding of their habits and biology to deal with.

The first thing I would advise is that you consult a pest controller with experience of the problem, make sure that they treat at least 3 properties a week if they are in London and check to make sure that they understand the complexities of the problems.

It can sometimes be possible for light or medium infestations to be eradicated by cleaning alone although they usually have to be caught before they start to breed.

Changing the temperature of the room is unlikely to be able to solve the problem, from research I have conducted you need to freeze bed bugs for several days before they are killed off, the damage to your property such as broken pipes would not make this a feasible solution.

The use of store/internet bought products may not be enough, there is a lot of evidence that they are becoming resistant to the basic pesticides and the more advanced ones which will break the life cycle are not available without a certificate in pest control as they are registered poisons.

Bed bugs can survive for up to 18 months without feeding and if a room is vacated but the house remains occupied will usually seek you out in other rooms in about 2 weeks. They are highly developed pests and have amazing senses.

Placing the bed legs in jars will help for a few days but the bed bugs quickly learn to walk up the walls and across the ceiling till they sense the carbon dioxide plume and heat from your body.

If the problem is persistently reoccurring it is usually and indication that you are coming into contact with a source of bed bugs on a regular basis. Remember that 60% of people do not initially respond to the bites so they might not even be aware that they have a problem. I am also going to be a little controversial and point out that they can come into your property through an adjoining party wall. Many pest controllers do not recognise this fact but from personal experience of dealing with entire tower blocks and terraced streets in London I know this to be the case.

Check with your neighbours to make sure that they are treated if required at the same time and ideally by the same professional that does the work for you so that they can make sure the best methods are used and that the true extent of the infestation is dealt with.

Bed bugs have increased in some London boroughs by as much as 900% in the last 12 months and in some cases patterns are starting to emerge that would indicate that some parts of the transport network may be the source. They have nothing to do with the hygiene of your property and can spread as easily as nits. The most common ways that people gets bed bugs are:

Staying in infested properties (hotels/hostels and friends houses)

Having guests who carry infestations on clothes / luggage

    Items of infested furniture

Travelling (abroad and in the UK)

There is a lot of information on our web site which I would recommend that you familiarise yourself with, it will help in selecting a local pest control professional if nothing else.

I wish you a swift return to normality, I know from my many clients they are a nuisance pest but the good news is that they are not known to carry any diseases. If you are having problems with the bites though consult you GP and ask for some antihistamines.

    Good luck.

Pest control in my garden .arrrrrrgh. i feel like im losing a battle?

so i noticed some bug action a few weeks ago and at first sign , bought some orthomax veggie, fruit and flower insect control. however it seems that since ive have been using it i am noticing more of a prob( not workin in other words..any tips on good insect repellent( main prob big green caterpillers on tomastoes and cabbage worms? but i also have pole beans cucs, potatoes, etc... please helpPest control in my garden .arrrrrrgh. i feel like im losing a battle?
Unfortunately, the more chemicals you use, the worse the pest problems become. The reason is, chemical pesticides make no distinction between 'bad' and beneficial insects. It kills them all. There are more insects that eat plants than there are insects that prey on the plant eating insects. When you kill off the beneficials along with the ones you are trying to eliminate, this actually sets the stage for a population explosion of the bad insects.

Rather than lamenting your lost crops, start doing research on organic gardening. By allowing your garden to grow naturally, it will begin to balance out and you will experience less loss from pests.

Another idea is to get a few chickens and let them roam in your garden. A couple of chickens will eradicate all the insects from your garden, above and below ground.

  • Do pest control high frequency transmitters work?

No. It's a scam and my dad fell for it when I was a kid.

It's supposed to put out some supersonic frequency that only bugs and mice can hear. That's great, but bugs don't have ears and it doesn't bother mice at all.

Mice have a super high-frequency range of hearing and so do dogs. This pest thingy didn't bother Fido, so it isn't going to bother the mouse. I guess that logic should have told my dad to keep the $20.Do pest control high frequency transmitters work?
i ve tried them to no avail, after awhile they build up a tolerance to them. i ve tried both with mice and moles. finally i got a cat after the mice started to only get high on the poison, pull plastic over the sticky traps, and the moles started uising them for back massagersDo pest control high frequency transmitters work?
No, they do not. I have seen people use these to rid their homes of roaches, only to find that the roaches set up housekeeping inside the device. I have also seen mice in homes with ';high frequency mouse chasers';.
It worked for me. Used it for raccoons and squirrels. The way to think of it is that it irritates them only. Meaning it will make them want to leave. But they won't if they're attending young or it has a food source. Just like if you were starving, you would eat in a noisy restaurant, but not if you wanted to chat with a buddy over coffee...
no no no !!!!! i use to have em all over my house, they didnt seem to do a thing.... so dont go and waste a dime on em.

I have mice in the pantry, but can't afford pest control. What can i do?

I had mice before and use the electronic pest repeller from Wal-Mart. Worked great when nothing else would. Safe for pets but eliminates the rodents.I have mice in the pantry, but can't afford pest control. What can i do?
I guess you'll just have to afford letting the house collapse around your ears after the mice chew through the walls.

Can't you control the mice using traps, or a cat, or something of that nature?I have mice in the pantry, but can't afford pest control. What can i do?
I'd go with a cat, you get a friendly pet and a lasting solution.
First I would clean out your pantry completely to see if there are open packages that the mice could have been eatting. I then would set mouse traps with peanut butter on the trap. Plug all the holes that you come across with a piece of board as mice can chew their way bearly through everything! They also have special things that work @ your hardware stores so check their and don`t be afraid to ask the clerk what he thinks what would work!!! Good Luck to you!
mouse traps or something from your local store. ask them for the best mice control they have. the more u pay the better quality is how i always looked at things.
Clean up any loose food. Put things in plastic containers. Use traps. Also try to identify and repair places that are allowing them to get into the house. Places like the water pipes under the sink are suspect. You have to remove the food source as best you can and the entry points. You can win the battle but it is sometimes difficult.
Get a cat that has lived on the street, and is hungry. People have relied on cats for pest control for centuries! And, the cats don't charge you money. My cat would think it was great fun and could present it to me as a gift. (That's the down-side.)
Clean out your pantry thoroughly and sanitize with bleach/water mix.One part water, two parts bleach.Use a mask and rubber gloves as some mouse droppings are very bad for your health, especially from deer mice.

Anything they have been into, toss out.Put the rest of your things into air tight plastic containers.Shoud always use containers anyway for storage.

There's a product called Warfarin which is very good and not expensive. It's a rat poison but works very well for mice.I was advised by my local hardware store to use this product when I had a mobile summer home as I would get ';little visitors'; every spring.Every fall when I closed up,I would leave the Warfarin set out and never had mice again. There is no odor left behind if they happen to die in your pantry. They dry up and leave no odor behind.I was fortunate and never found any dead ones. They ate the Warfarin and left,I guess.

I'm a firm believer in this product and used it for years.

    Good Luck.
find their entrances. if you can get a pencil into a hole a mouse will squeeze through. Block all the holes with cement.

put every packet into a plastic or tin box

clear up the crumbs which attracted the mice in the first place

get a couple of humane mousetraps, these just catch the mice inside without killing them. release the mice outside, as far away as possible. don't try to poison them, what happens is that they crawl away somewhere inaccessible to die and stink for weeks afterwards to remind you that you killed them!

oh, another way to catch a mouse is to put a big paper bag beside the wall and chase the mouse all around the room until they hide in the bag. It WORKS. I've done this many times, when one of the cats was bringing in mice.
In a pantry do not use poisons around food, traps are much better.

Go out and buy a couple of packages of mouse traps and set them up baited but not set. Do this where you have noticed the mice. The mice will get used to there being food on the unset (safe to them) traps and will start going to them to eat. After 4 to 5 days start setting the baited traps and you should catch/kill most/all of the mice.

The second thing is to look where they are getting in your kitchen. You should find small holes usually along baseboards or in your cabinets somewhere. Block off those holes.

Finally, make sure you have NO FOOD available. Make sure your cereals, bread, crackers, grains (flour, rice, etc), pasta, etc are stored in heavy plastic or glass containers. Make sure all cabinets and surfaces are clean/wiped down at least daily
Mouse traps or d-con poison. If you have any pets i wouldn't use the poison i would go with traps.
THE DOLLAR STORES HAVE 3 TRAPS FOR APPROX. $1.00. FOR THAT PRICE, I JUST PITCH TRAP AND ALL. THEN, YOU DON'T HAVE TO MESS WITH THEM.
    Get a kitty!!!
Try cleaning your house once in a while.
I'm in agreement with the other poster. You're gonna have to do it. I know it is unpleasant, but it's got to be done.

OR get a cat or two.
A good place to set traps and poison is under the refrigerator. They are attracted to the water in the condensate tray. Pets can't get at it and it's not as gross as finding one dead next to the cereal box in the morning - gag - just ruins my whole day!!! RScott

How do I get training for pest control?

All pesticide applicators in the United States come under the jurisdiction of the US Environmental Protection Agency and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). But each state has a ';lead agency'; (usually the state's department of Agriculture or Environmental Protection) that actually implements the FIFRA requirements, and they do so quite differently. So what appears here is very general in nature. For more accurate information, contact your state's pesticide lead agency or Cooperative Extension department.

In most states, candidates to become certified pesticide applicators must be at least 18 years of age and have a certain amount of experience working under a certified person.

Applicants to become certified must also ';be of good character.'; Different states interpret this differently. In almost all cases, convictions for certain crimes involving the environment, pollution, or terrorism will bar an applicant from working with pesticides. Other convictions may or may not prevent certification, depending on the state and the nature and circumstances of the conviction.

You can buy a gallon or larger can of pesticide with a hose and spray attachment.from WalMart, Lowe's etc. Be sure all pets are out of the house and secured away from the house. Go around all the edges of the rooms and around the outside of the foundation. Spray everywhere you have seen the exterminator spray. Think like a bug and spray in likely looking places.

If you do not get as good a results as the exterminator did get advice.

Go to your local hardware store (like an ACE ) or where you would go for lumber, paint, and other home and garden supplies. Find someone who seems knowledgeable - like the manager. Ask them which pesticide works best in your area and tell them what you want to get rid of.
Since you currently have a pest control company, they are your first resource to have your questions answered and your problem solved. Call them until they do. Now, if you still insist on doing your own pest control, knowledge is power. Learn all you can about the pests involved. The number one weapon for use on spiders is a vacuum. Physically remove all live spiders, webbing, and egg cases. A repellent applied to those areas will give you relief. Centipedes are generally a moisture issue. Decrease the moisture where you see the centipedes, maybe even use a dehumidifier and the problem may resolve itself without any chemical intervention. Pest control does not always come in a can. It comes from knowing the pests biology and using that knowledge to put stress on that pests population. Without food, water, and harborage a pest can not survive. They make some bug killing bombs that I hear work quite well. Basically, you close all the windows and doors, set these up and then leave for a few hours. When you come back open the place up to air it out.

They produce a very fine ultra sonic sound wave that is an irritant to animals with more sensitive hearing so they do work but they can affect humans with sensitive hearing as well. You may not actually hear it but it could cause undue irritability. So if you do use one put it in a place that is away from where you occupy frequentlyAnyone ever tried that riddex plus pest control that u plug in the wall?
Yes, I had one when I lived in the country and it kept the mice and other pests away. I thought it worked great. Forgot to take it with me when I moved. I wish i still had it. Might have to go buy another one.

How is Aphid, Whitefly & Insect Sticky Trap as pest control?

http://www.hydroasis.com/hy/productdetail.aspx?id=26%26amp;product=aphid-whitefly-%26amp;-insect-sticky-trapHow is Aphid, Whitefly %26amp; Insect Sticky Trap as pest control?
Sticky traps are mainly used to monitor insect infestations. In other words, you put out sticky traps to see how many and what kind of insects get caught on the traps. Then you'll know if you have a pest problem and what sort of insect you need to control.

Aphids generally stay on the plants and they don't fly, so you won't see them on your sticky traps. An insecticidal soap spray works well for controlling aphids.

Neem oil is an organic product that is effective in controlling all three of the insects you mentioned. Many gardening catalogs offer Neem-based products and you might also find it at your local garden centers. How is Aphid, Whitefly %26amp; Insect Sticky Trap as pest control?

Do the Riddex Plus pest control things work?

You know..the things you plug in the outlet and are supposed to get rid of mice and roaches?

Note: I don't want to know what you think. I want people who have tried it to tell me about it. Do the Riddex Plus pest control things work?
I used them, they did nothing! Don't waste your $$$Do the Riddex Plus pest control things work?
Save your money because they're worthless. The way to get rid of the little critters is to clean up all spills, crumbs, etc., and make sure everything is clean. Put everything you can in zip top bags and into the refrigerator. Make sure everything else is in metal or glass containers. Don't leave pet food and water available because the pets are not the only thing eating it. Do not leave any liquids out and available. Put rat bait in the back of cabinets such as under the sink, under appliances, etc. Mice and rats like to stay close to walls and underneath things. Closely examine all walls, baseboards, and floors to be sure there are no openings. Mice can get in through an opening the size of a dime. Stuff steel wool in all openings. Roaches and other crawling insects require a different bait than mice. The baits work by being attracive to the mice. When the mice eat the bait they get thirsty and try to find something to drink. They have to go somewhere else to drink and when they do, the bait kills them. Roach bait works because they get it all over their community and it kills many of them. It goes without saying to keep all this stuff away from pets and kids.
We bought a pair last year and didn't have a major mouse problem, maybe one or two. However, this year with the Riddex still plugged in, I trapped 8 mice in our food closet in one day. Last night caught another one. So, does it work? Didn't seem to make any difference.
There have been pretty mixed reviews. It's only supposed to affect rodents (pets are affected too, like gerbils and guinea pigs) and cockroaches. It also claims to be fully compliant with the Federal Communications Commission.

I found termite-like insects inside my house. Any recommendation for pest-control company?

  • I'm self employed with my Pest control business can I pay my taxes yearly?

I just started my pest control company last June. Its just me ( no other employees ) and was wondering if I can pay my taxes yearly rather ten quarterly? Also what other taxes or fees do I have to pay?

www.asapest.comI'm self employed with my Pest control business can I pay my taxes yearly?
There is no option to pay Estimated Tax annually. But you may be able to avoid estimated tax payments if (1) you have no taxable income (many start-ups experience this their first few quarters in business) or (2) you withhold the bulk of your tax liability through some other means (e.g., from the paycheck you get from your day job that you continue to work while you run the pest business on the side). But if the pest business is your primary source of income (as it sounds like it is), you'll need to file Estimated Tax quarterly.

    Other Taxes

In most instances you will also have to pay (1) state and possibly local income tax, (2) state/local tangible personal property tax for any tangible assets owned by the business; (3) Federal and State Payroll Taxes (i.e. Social Security and Unemployment, aka FICA %26amp; FUTA). Finally, you'll have to pay sales tax on items purchased for use in your business. It sounds like you're a service business so you shouldn't have any inventory held for resale. If so, you'd need a sales tax exemption from the state/local government exempting you from tax on the purchase of the inventory but you'd be required to collect tax from the customer when you sold the item. Finally, make sure you're locality or state does not require you to collect sales tax on your pest control services. If so, you'd need to register for this tax and collect it from customers each time you did a job. Otherwise, you'd be responsible for paying it.

In a nutshell, start-up business taxes can be more daunting than many people expect. You should consult the IRS website or good tax accountant or tax attorney.

Yes, you can. But is that the correct way of doing it? No.

I know of some small business owners who pay their tax once a year....and of course, they must pay a penalty. but they tell me that the penalty is cheaper then paying a tax preparer 4 times a year.

Pest control coming how do you prepare your home for them?

What are they treating for? That determines what the exterminator should do. If the exterminator starts randomly spraying all your baseboards fire him immediately. It doesn't do any good and puts excess chemicals in your house. The only time baseboard spraying does any good is along the exterior walls. Clear some of the clutter out from under your sinks. Bugs like to hide and nest near water, and move along pipes through the home. If you have cockroaches or ants in your kitchen, empty as many cupboards as possible, and leave enough room for the guy to get to the cupboards. Same thing in the bathrooms. If you don't have roaches and ants in the cabinets, just clear out as much clutter as possible. The more of your home he can see and inspect, the better he can do.

Pest control service should be limited to treating specific problems indoors and only using baits as a preventive measure. Outside a barrier treatment should be done to prevent bugs from getting in in the future. The previous suggestion is good... just keep everything out of the way, and avoid having the house cluttered when they get there. Here's another suggestion to keep pests out of the house in the first place:

I have a lot of problems with various kinds of pests in my area. The first spring I lived in my current house, there were bugs everywhere on the outside of the building and inside as well.

Through research, I learned that many insects HATE lemongrass, so in the early spring I put about 10-15 drops of essential oil of lemongrass into a spray bottle full of water, and spray around the outside of all my doors and windows. It may also help to spray around the base of the walls.

This has the added benefit of giving your house a fresh smell.

I need pest control service for my home, how much does this cost?

I want to get the house sprayed before I start moving my stuff in, Can someone give me an idea on how much pest control service costs and what company provides good service. Thanks for your replyI need pest control service for my home, how much does this cost?
It will cost roughly $100 for the inside of the house to be treated. You should sign up for a service that sprays your house each quarter. You will get a break on the price by doing this.I need pest control service for my home, how much does this cost?
i'm not sure if this is a country wide service but Mother Nature and Sons is a really good pest control service. They spray the inside and outside of your house for $15-30. Look them up and give them a call.
call up the company and ask for an estimate, it should be free to get one

How much do pest / mice control services like Terminix or Orkin cost? Do they work?

After cleaning under my stove I saw a slew of mouse droppings which was the first indication we had a big problem. We live near a field and I bought these humane mice traps and have caught 3 mice in a period of 3 days. However, I think the problem is much bigger than I anticipated. I am thinking about a service but how much does it cost? Would it be safe for my two dogs and family? Do these services actually work in getting rid of mice? How much do pest / mice control services like Terminix or Orkin cost? Do they work?
    From a former Terminix Technician:

The pest control industry is one of the biggest rippoffs in the country! They prey upon people's ignorance %26amp; coerce them into signing up for a long-term contract. DON'T DO IT!!!

Forget about humane treatment of a rodent. Get some Decon and put it where your dogs can't get to it. Every time a tray goes empty, replace it with a full one. Problem solved. How much do pest / mice control services like Terminix or Orkin cost? Do they work?
they cost too much and they don't work and their ad on this site is the single most annoying thing in the world besides george w.
It may be better in the long run to adopt a cat or two from the Humane Society in your area. That's the best mouse deterrent I can recommend!!
I would suggest using glue traps. I know, it's a little gross to throw out afterwards, but it's the best way for a couple of reasons. The spring traps just aren't always effective. Many a mouse has figured that one out. The poison pellets, as you may be able to place them where your pets can't go, you can't guarantee that the mouse isn't going to die where your pet can get to it. And if your pet eats a poisoned mouse, it could still be poisoned. Also, there is nothing worse than the smell of a dead mouse decomposing somewhere in your walls. They die somewhere hidden or where you can't get to them most of the time. And trust me, you will tear walls out if that's what it takes to get rid of that smell.
we had terminex for 4 years and i thought that they were a waste of money. or issue however was termites- and when we got the house the first 2 years plus all baiting systems were paid for. it cost us a few hundred a year to keep the baiting systems. yes- it got rid of my small infestation of termites- however instead of killing them they seem to just move from location to another...

for mice there are pelets that you can place in areas that your pets can not get too (ie under the stove and behind the fridge.) i have heard mixed reactions on the things you plug in the walls that are supposed to send high-frequeny signals scaring rodents out of the house. (i do know that the cheap ones dont work)
It can cost from $35 and up.. They actually want to come look at the square foot of your home.. Now if you live in a duplex or a condo.. or apt..they wont guarantee it unless your neighbors do it too.. Be careful and shop around because it gets kinda pricey! also they will want to do more then 1 treatment!
I have a contract with Terminix. They show up 4 times a year and spray around the house with something that keeps the bugs/critters out. They also treat the inside, attic and garage. I have seen 1 water bug and 1 roach in the last year.

They aren't cheap (about $700 a year), but I have found they are well worth the money.

This is probably me thinking too much into it, but we got a LOT of new bugs after we told the pest control guy we didn't want to sign a contract.Do door to door pest control guys leave bugs if you don't sign up?
Most legitimate pest control businesses that I know of don't

go door to door to get new customers. But there are a lot of

scam or ';gypsy'; companies that do go door to door with

fake businesses....like pest control, painting or roofing or

driveway repair companies. I have heard of these scam

companies actually letting bugs loose to prove to you that

you need their business, they then spray ';poison'; (usually

just water) around and then take your money. So I would

be a little suspicious of the door to door people.Do door to door pest control guys leave bugs if you don't sign up?
Not usually. My dad owns a pest patrol and he never leaves bugs.
    I hope you don't vote..
You should have gotten his information, most cities require anything door to door to have a permit, and he could have been defrauding you.
I doubt if he would go to the trouble of collecting bugs to leave for people who don't sign up with him, but it's possible. If you want to get back at him a little then call him up and say that a lot of bugs showed up after you turned him down, but you couldn't find his number at that time so you called a competitor and signed a contract with them instead.
    I always did. :-)

ummm why are people using chemicals to kill spiders? oh sure if you are over run...but everyone I know either catches them and puts them outside or grabs them with a tissue and squishes themWe have spider in our house what do i do besides pest control?
Most spiders are harmless. But you should identify it just in case it is one of the bad ones. I would contact your state university so you get expert advice. Your tax dollars already paid for it. They can help you identify it and tell you what you may want to do.
I think it really depends on the severity of the situation. If you got an infestation, yes, call the exterminator. If you have One spider, eat it.
Leave them to eat the flies and masquitoes. Everything has their place.
spray lysol or clorox on everyone you see it will kill them slowly but it will kill them

to limit their numbers..you should set up random poison traps...although you may need an exterminator for that...but if you limit the amount of open food laying around that'll at least lessen the frequency of their appearances...Home based pest control? The absolute best pest control product on the market is actually not even made for pest control, it's a detergent. 20 Mule Team Borax Natural Laundry Booster. Roach gel bait is sold in alot of hardware stores. comes in syringe type packs.Follow instructions. Just a dot in the hinges of cabinets and in the cracks and crevices all around the kitchen and bathroom. If they're german roaches they like moisture. Also get a residual spray and traet all areas where you see them. Dont forget to treat pipe voids under the sinks. Youcan get supplies online also. I find that phantom insecticide and maxforce or advance roach gels work very well. good luck
Your best bet is to call a proper company who can deal with these little sh*tes. This is the best thing to do, as they can remove them for good. Home based products usually kill them roaches untill a second wave arrives who imunize themselves against the chemicals in the products.

Buff Orrpingtons are really big chickens, and quite tame too, like to be petted. But if you want a bird to get rid of bugs, guineas are the best bug catchers and they don't damage other plants like chickens do. Guineas will keep pests out of a vegetable garden while chickens will eat many of the vegetables along with the bugs- especially tomatoes and any greens. What chickens are best for pest control?
Chickens are fussy about which bugs they eat. They will not eat spiders or ants. They will eat earwigs though.

Chickens will carry lice from wild birds unless you dust them regularly, and they will need more than bugs to eat. You will have to feed and water them every day, summer or winter and you will have to clean up chicken poop all over the place, including on the paths and your door step. They will get into the flower beds and scratch the flowers out of the ground, and scatter your bark mulch all over the place looking for bugs.

They won't stay home unless you clip their wings, and then they will be prey for the neighborhood dogs. So be prepared for the neighbors to complain about them.

If you shut them up so they can't roam around, they can't eat your bugs.

If you are still wanting chickens, I like the Rhoade Island Reds, (Large Brown Chickens that lay brown eggs) or the Bard Rocks, Big Black chickens with white stripes on the feather tips, lay large gry/brown eggs. They have a tendency to stay closer to home and are more docile than the other breeds.
Get chickens but i would use insecticide to get rid of the bugs.

If you get chickens then you will have to worry about mice and rats from the feed for the chickens.

You'd probably be better off getting lizards.
your foundation is probably wet, earwigs ,silverfish ,roaches all favor a wet environment. you won't be rid of hem till you dry things up/
The white ones and Rode Island red.

It is comical to see hens running after bugs.

They go to bed at dark.

Home based pest control? Any one have any working solutions for roaches?

Bleach is the best solution. Spray with straight bleach all the entrances, around the bathroom walls and sinks, and all the areas that you can find a possible future hang out for them. Roaches do not come to your house for the food; they come there for the water. Roaches eat off of sheet rock and papers so spray around the bathroom walls and all the sinks specially kitchen. Make sure you keep the shower and all the kitchen sinks dry. Get rid of all the old news papers and boxes that might be left in the dark places. It takes about 30 seconds to a minute for them to die. The lasting odor keeps them away for about 3 days. Repeat the process for 6 weeks just in case of manifestation. This will terminate them until next season.Home based pest control? search out their lairs or dens or whatever they call their breeding places...spray with raid or other insecticide. as for the roaches themselves, a good squishing should do the trick..or bring your pet chicken into their breeding places for a treat.

Do you know how can I cultivate rose? How can control pest?

I want gardening.I decided to cultivate rose. But I do not know how can I cultivate rose. Then I think that I may ask this question to my yahoo friend.May be one of my friend give me good information which is useful for me.Do you know how can I cultivate rose? How can control pest?
Companion planting is a great way to keep aphids off your roses. If you plant marigolds next to the roses, the marigolds attract an insect that likes to eat aphids.Do you know how can I cultivate rose? How can control pest?
Roses are very hardy and very easy to grow. They mostly like full sun but you can get some varieties which cope with a bit of shade. They don't need a lot of water. In Australia, 'black spot' causes the most problem for roses. It is a fungus that grows on the leaf and causes a black spot and discoloration and the leaves eventually drop off infecting the ground with the fungus so that new leaves emerging become infected.

I have some variety of roses that have never got black spot (they are climbing roses). I keep the base of the trunk trimmed so that the fungus cannot get up onto the leaves. When I see a leaf with black spot I remove it immediately and I have to confess, as much as I hate pesticides, I have resorted to using a spray that I got from the supermarket for some of my plants.

I have planted 'bare-rooted' - roses available in winter and just normal rose bushes that I have bought at other times of the year.

Once they have flowered, cut the dead flower heads off and you should get another round of flowers (sometimes even 3 lots). In autumn you can cut them back (remove the dead flowers at least) and you will get lots of new growth in spring.

A friend of mine takes cuttings, dips them in hormone powder and pots them and has very successfully propagated quite a few varieties. Good luck!
