I live out in the country and I know that makes it more difficult to keep spiders out, but here has to be some sure fire method to eliminating them . Without having to take a broom to the window stills and corners in my house. Ugh.

Put lemon pledge on the window sills and door frames.
Borax, 20 mule team, or boric acid powder, made to kill roaches, will kill them.
On the out side you can put some hand dish soap in some water and put in a sprayer and put on a hose and spray. I read some where you can just spray water outside.
Be careful what you wish for. I know someone who diligently killed the spiders in the eaves of the house and around the doors. These were the big harmless spiders. Once they were all gone, the black widow spiders moved in! I just clean out the webs regularly. They kill flies, which I hate more than spiders.
You can buy sonic plugs that emmit a high pitched noise that can clear the house of spiders. Like one of the others said its best not to rid the house of all spiders as they keep down unwanted insects.
